Company history
C.L.D. Services Ltd. was formed in 1973 by the late, Eric Laker. The company was purchased in 1980, by the Lester group.
In October of 1981 the managing director of Lester group, Alan Shellard, resigned his position and purchased C.L.D., with the aim of offering a personalised service and expanding the business, from its then turnover of £110,000.00.
In the following years the company has succeeded in a highly competitive market by expanding to provide a complete building maintenance service. This was subsequently improved further when in April 2001 we took over Commercial & Residential Cleaning Services of Knightsbridge and set up a maintenance division, called C&R Contractors to cope with the ever expanding, building maintenance side of our business. Then in July 2004 we further expanded the companies services when we set up CLD Hygiene. This part of our business provides all our washroom hygiene and janitorial services and through a strong work ethic and guaranteed 100% service promise, has grown at a staggering rate to help push the groups current turnover to in excess of five million pounds.
This growth has been achieved by maintaining a personalised service and strict supervision, with regular contact with both client and staff, in line with our ISO 9001 certificate and the ethos instilled in the staff by our late chairman, Alan Shellard, who sadly passed away in October 2004 and will be greatly missed by all who knew him
It is the intention of the management team, to continually expand the business within its financial and managerial capabilities and widen still further the services we currently offer.
